Terms of Use
Cabbiro helps you track food, training and prayer. It is not a medical device, a dietitian, or a source of religious rulings. Please read sections 3 and 4 — they are the ones that matter most.
1. Agreement
By downloading or using Cabbiro ("the app") you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app. The app is provided by an independent developer based in Norway.
2. Using the app
You may use Cabbiro for your own personal, non-commercial use. You agree not to reverse engineer it, extract its content for redistribution, use it to break the law, or attempt to interfere with its operation or the services it depends on.
You are responsible for the accuracy of what you enter and for keeping your account credentials secure.
3. Nutrition and health information
Cabbiro is a tracking tool, not healthcare. Nothing in it is medical advice, diagnosis or treatment.
- Calorie and nutrition figures are estimates. Figures from photo or voice logging are produced by an AI model and may be substantially wrong.
- Calorie burn from exercise is estimated from time spent, not measured.
- Product data comes from Open Food Facts, a community database we do not control and cannot guarantee.
Consult a doctor or qualified dietitian before making significant changes to your diet or exercise, particularly if you are pregnant, managing a medical condition, taking medication, or have a history of disordered eating. Do not rely on the app in an emergency.
4. Halal information
The halal scanner matches a product's listed ingredients against known non-halal and disputed ingredients, and shows you what it matched. It is a screening aid, not a halal certification and not a religious ruling.
Ingredient lists change without notice, formulations differ between countries, and some ingredients are genuinely disputed among scholars. Any flags shown by the photo or voice features are a heads-up based on what the model believed it saw or heard. Where a product or a ruling matters to you, verify it yourself and consult a qualified scholar. We accept no responsibility for decisions made on the basis of a verdict shown in the app.
Hadiths are reproduced from published Sunni collections with their reference numbers. Errors are possible; please report them.
5. Accounts
An account is optional and exists to back up and restore your data. You may delete it at any time from More → Settings → My profile → Danger zone. Deletion is permanent. We may suspend an account that is being used abusively or in breach of these terms.
6. Purchases
Some features may be offered as a paid subscription. Where a subscription is bought through the App Store, Apple handles the payment, billing and renewal, and Apple's terms govern refunds and cancellation. Manage or cancel a subscription in your App Store account settings. Prices may differ by country and may change, with any change applying from your next renewal.
7. Third-party services
The app relies on services we do not operate, including Open Food Facts, Google Gemini, Spoonacular, Unsplash, YouTube and Supabase. Their availability and accuracy are outside our control, and your use of embedded content may also be subject to their terms. The privacy policy sets out what each one receives.
8. Content and licence
The app, its design and its original content belong to the developer. Some bundled material is used under open licences and credited in the app. Your own data — your diary, logs and measurements — remains yours.
9. Availability and changes
The app is provided "as is" and "as available". We may change, suspend or discontinue features, and we do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation.
10. Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss arising from reliance on estimated nutrition figures or halal verdicts. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or your statutory rights as a consumer.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by Norwegian law. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country of residence.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top will change, and where a change is significant we will say so in the app.
